Fish Fabrique is one of the oldest underground clubs of St. Petersburg. The building, which houses the “Fishka” is a former squat, still inhabited by artists, musicians, writers and theater groups. There are a lot of workshops, galleries, rehearsal points there. Some details of the interior of the club were made by globally famous art group “Rechniki”. This is the factory kitchen of the St. Petersburg’s club culture.

In 2010, the oldest club of St. Petersburg officially opened a new, more spacious hall — Fabrique Nouvelle, which is located across the courtyard from the old premises and occupies the entire first floor of the famous address Pushkinskaya, 10. In the new hall, which operates on a daily basis from 18:00 to the last guest, extensive art program is provided: from performances of theatrical and musical groups — both from St. Petersburg and guests from near and far abroad, to the cinematic evenings and children’s matinees.

In January, V-ROX organising committee visited Eurosonic — one of the largest European music festivals. This year Eurosonic celebrated its 30th anniversary. The celebration took place in the small Dutch town of Groningen, but on a grand scale: not only as a showcase but also as a huge music conference where there were numerous business meetings and concerts taking place.

Our team also caught up with the best Estonian band of the year — Trad.attack! (V-ROX participants in 2015) and established contacts with many Dutch artists, as well as took part in the discussion panel together with the representatives of Glastonbury Festival and Canadian Music Week.

Our European colleagues at Eurosonic said: “We were hoping to see representatives from Russia and were very pleased that it was exactly the same V-ROX, which we have heard so much before. Delegation of V-ROX were the only representatives of Russia and told a lot of interesting things”.

We are hoping to see Dutch artists at V-ROX 2016. Our next stop is MENT festival in Slovenia and Tallinn Music Week where we received special invitations from our respective colleagues. See you all there. WE VROX YOU!

Official V-ROX Festival 2015 Movie which had its premier on December 20th 2015 on MTV Russia TV channel is now available online.

The main festival of the free port of Vladivostok was held on August 28–30th 2015 at the Sportivnaya Embankment. V-ROX is a big international music festival and creative conference. This year was 3rd in V-ROX history. The founder and creator of this festival is none other but Ilya Lagutenko from “Mumiy Troll” band. In 2015 more than 300 bands, musicians, DJs and other representatives of the music industry from 14 countries participated in V-ROX.

Ilya Lagutenko comments: “The greatest result of the festival over the past three years was the fact that I, as a festival organizer, could demonstrate that real music discoveries need not be limited to musicians and entertainment industry professionals. Our efforts have been rewarded with the attention of the general public. We managed to finally break a lot of prejudices. We were able to not only show the real state of the global independent music scene to people of Vladivostok; we began to find real like-minded people as well. Namely — young people, who think in terms of the future in the world of openness and cooperation, instead of worrying about immediate benefits and who do not drool over the fact that “rock and roll is dead,” and “there is no path for the young.” We started to make history together.”

MTV Russia TV channel is a partner of the V-ROX festival.

Jana Churikova (director of MTV Russia) says: “I strongly support music decentralization. Life cannot happen only in the European part of Russia. V-ROX is a perfect example of a significant cultural event that is very far from the “center”. Through this festival, Vladivostok is strengthening its status of a city — a leader of the youth culture in our country. And MTV is glad to be with V-ROX!”

The film about V-ROX 2015 was filmed for MTV by a young and ambitious Vladivostok production studio “Sad Woodpecker.” Peter Starostin, the director of V-ROX 2015 said: “For me and our team, us working at this festival has become the ultimate experience. We were fortunate to be in the thick of events, meeting and talking with incredibly talented people from all over the world, different cultures, style and energy. Our work was also to introduce these people to an audience of millions, and of course — to convey the very special atmosphere of the festival and the whole city of Vladivostok. Of course, it was a very difficult task, but if we have opportunity again to try something like this, we will say yes, yes and yes”.

The next V-ROX festival will be held in Vladivostok on 19–21 August 2016. Plan ahead for a visit to the free port of Vladivostok on these dates, and look for yourself in the TV version on MTV Russia. WE V-ROX YOU!
